Unfortunately I'm stuck dealing with some silly issues that I need to solve before being able to set the Steam page to public, but I'll try to get that up and running as soon as I can!
If you could give me some more info about the situation like which class you are playing, what version you downloaded and maybe a screenshot of your deck I'd really appreciate it!
I am loving your game so far! It was the completest game of cards I ever played, and trust me, I played many and many card games like this, but this was so complex and interesting! I just couldn't join the Discord server, and I hated how they removed permainvites.
This was a great game, I've unlocked all the subclasses, most easter eggs which I'm looking forward to uncover the rest. I have yet to uncover where to use the 6 awarded gems after clearing each run though. A new link to the discord would be appreciated.
i went into the options while fighting enemy then i couldnt interact with cards or anything other than menu things and the next phase button also after leaving and reentering run i can only go into forge which was place before fight but the forge card is black and blank and cannot be interacted with and also i cant progress to next place which is the enemy which bugged before

The saves are not working properly on the current version, I will shortly upload a small update that fixes those issues. Unfortunately, your current run is not recoverable and you'll have to start a new run.
Heyow, real brilliant game, and finally an amazing user-generated content system for a card game. It's literally 2000s Yugi-oh but only the good parts. Really fun, great game. A welcomed amount of silly that can happen. Only bad thing I ran into was a logic freeze in battle where I could not confirm things. It happened 3 times. Twice where I could not confirm defenders, once where I could not confirm attackers. The first two I resolved by going back to the main menu and resuming the campaign, though it did mean restarting the fight. The last I just decided to turn it off and come back in future updates.
Thanks for the feedback, the new version is being worked on and it's set to release this week with fixes to those issues you mentioned. I'm very sorry that you had that annoying experience, especially since the bug that causes that is very silly. I hope you come back and check it out this weekend when the new update goes live!
I will definitely be trying it out. I love games where things are allowed to interact in silly ways. A bit of power fantasy goes a long way and this game drips with it. I really do hope that was the goal.
Regarding mods, I also would love to see more mods created and shared, unfortunately I can't really include them in the base game, so please do ask and share about mods in the server!
I can't replicate it. But it is not only the starting button not working. I couldn't click on anything on the "Quest screen" too for once. But pressing escape let me back to the other menu and then I could click on those again when going back to the quest menu
Yeah I realized what was going on, some things were being saved properly with the new save system, so people coming from older version (myself included) wouldn't notice this issue, but new players that started on version 0.5.3 or 0.5.4 were probably getting this error.
I don't have the greatest computer, but I had low FPS despite a low graphics settings. There are possibly memory leaks as the game keeps getting slower.
Enemy deck quality is too random. The first run I played I ran into a Champion on the ~4th room. It kept spamming that deals 6 damage ability from like turn 3 and I couldn't do anything. It is also common to fight against some cost-2 4|7 minions on the first floor while the floor-2 final boss being a complete pushover.
Some obvious crafting balancing issues, for example:
Exhaust active skill's cost is too low compared to Summon active skill cost. Minions can even activate Exhaust effects mid-fight, making the former has also everything the latter has to offer and much more
Increase mana pool is too cheap. I once got a cost-0 spell that increases mana pool twice.
Exhume spells easily creates infinite loop, but they can be dirt cheap in term of mana. Insane combined with increase mana.
Discard and deal damage equal to cost is a bit too powerful: Craft a cost-20 card and bust your opponent.
The Warrior feels particularly underpowered. Although the starting deck has some synergy, the benefits it offers is only on par with better cards at best, making the class inferior to the Adventurer, who may RnG good cards. For example, you can craft cost-1 3|3 cards , a highly desirable substitute for the starters. Extra health also only delays the inevitable if you are overwhelmed on the field.
Inclarity. For example, it is quite confusing when you say "when you discard cards". Whether it means when I discard my cards, when I discard my opponents' cards, or when my opponent makes me discard my cards, or any combination of the above, or even if it is limited to discarding hands. Counter target minion spell is another enigma.

Version 0.5.3 addressed big memory leak problems, some comparatively very small leaks still exists and I've identifies them yesterday but I wasn't able to address them, hopefully I'll patch them soon enough.
Either way, version 0.5.4 should have better performance for you since I changed the way I manage graveyards.
Awesome game, genuinely able to give similar games a run for their money or outright blow them out of the water already. The randomness from the AI generated cards, the cool little features like making your own card as a reward from your progression and you being able to collect gems to influence its power, the potential for different play-styles and win conditions, the ability to add your own images/mods. All of these features put together is a super addictive experience that pulled me in right from the first couple of battles, then it kept surprising me as it went on.
This is already better than many, many roguelike deckbuilders I've played, even some actual TCG's in terms of content and replayability, and even more so in terms of potential.
Good stuff, I can't wait to see this on steam, I'll be buying right away!

Just to clarify, the cards are Randomly generated, but I wouldn't call them AI generated since the algorithms and logic to randomly create them is all a set of rules created by yours truly. I'm not smart enough to implement AI like that.

Do you happen to remember what was played before? Your card with Exhume 2 and then destroy 2 target Minions shouldn't be playable without Minions on the field to target. Do you remember if you were able to play it without Minions on the field? Or perhaps you played with minions still on the field but your enemy Repealed them in response?

It was a card Exhume 2 and then destroy up to 2 target Minions so I played it even if there wasn't any minions on the field.
I already managed to play it like that earlier on the run so the bug isn't with the lack of minions . My guess would be the exhume 2 while having no card left.
Plenty of things seem off here. While the card says "Up to 2" in reality, the effect can't be played without targets (This is going to be fixed in version 0.4.1), so for starters, you shouldn't be allowed to do that.
Edit: I just realized, but rather than the situation below, it's likely to be a problem where your cards got milled, and then you tried to use the Exhume effect on the milled cards, which in version 0.4.0 causes a game freeze! This is already fixed in the new version which will be released sometime next week.
Not having cards in deck should have no impact on the Exhume effect, however, what I'm thinking could've been a problem in this version is your opponent's "Gain control of target Minion" ability. Could it be that your opponent stole one of your Minions, then it died, and then you tried to Exhume that same Minion?
At any rate, I've been working on the code for playing cards to fix some issues so hopefully this won't happen in the next update even if I can't reproduce your situation exactly.

Incredible game , the only thing it seem to lack for now is some adjustment on the balance and some bug to patch. I didn't believed it when I had seen that it was only 3 months old.
You can already be proud of you , taking apart the bugs it is already better than most finished paid games.

I only exhumed 2 spells so it can't be monster control shenanigan .
It is most likely this "Exhume effect on the milled cards" that caused my game freeze .
Where are you receiving your bug reports usually ?

Just found the game and ended up sinking a couple hours into it without realizing. Really fun and easy to play. Excited to see how it develops.
